Well, kinda boring.

Journal Entry: Tue Mar 16, 2010, 4:57 PM
I don't have any big huge updates, other than to say, I'm still ACEO painting, and working on a couple bigger things, but right now, I'm focusing on learning, so I'm trying all sorts of new and neato techniques with watercolors, that are probably completely elementary to everyone else. lol

I'm also spending a lot of time outside, around the house, figuring out the hows and wherefors of planting my first garden. Yay!

So, fear not, there will be more from me soon, till then, I hope everyone's having an amazing time. :D

I'm back!

The move is over (except for the unpacking), and I am even more in love with this house. I type this in our wonderful computer room (Which, I'm assuming was designed to be the dining room, but the kitchen's big enough for my dinette set, so there ya go), ready to figure out what's next, art-wise.

The studio's not set up yet, as it seems to be the room we've dumped boxes to unpack. :D

I think this morning, I'm going to get DAZ out, and futz around, since they've made all their base forms free. I've always wanted to work with David, and mebbe I'll texture. (Ok, maybe not, but it sounds good. *laugh*)

Anyway, hope everyone's doing well, and you'll hear more from me, as I get settled in.

This is the week. It'll be spent with moving, and cleaning, and a small flurry of last minute packing shit I thought I'd get away with tossing out. *snicker*

Obviously, because we're dorks, the pc's will be the last things shut down, but I'm not entirely sure how long I'll be without internet, or when exactly, this week, that'll start, so I'm posting now, just in case.

This house buying thing has been amazing. Awesome, and terrifying and stressful and lovely.

I have a handful of sketches that I'll be working on once I unpack "the Studio", and get it settled a bit. I'm excited because I'll be working on a piece that's outside my comfort zone. :D (And it's a music related visual piece. Yay!)

Also, dolling my head off, but not seeming to get anywhere, as I'm woefully out of practice. *laugh* And the dollers of today are some *amazing* artists. Want to highlight some of my very faves when I get moved.

Lastly, I luv you guys, and I'm glad so many give a crap about my artistic meanderings. Kinda makes me happy. *Hugs*

See you guys in the new house. :D

And the holidays were nice...

Mon Jan 4, 2010, 5:13 AM

And they were, really. I was very pleased with the people I got to hang out with, the boyo was crazy pleased about his presents, and I was pretty pleased about mine. (I finally got around to getting myself a DSlite. *giggle*)

My ten thousandth visitor came and went. I'll talk more about that, once I figure out what the crap is going on there.

Let me just say that while I am eternally thankful, and blessed, to have had 10,000 views of my profile, and I look forward to another ten thousand, there has to be a better way to reward people who actually support my art, and visit me more than a fly-by who wasn't particularly interested in my art, but more to solicit comments about his/her own art.

*snicker*

Speaking of art, I got a portable table for Christmas, this means that I can sketch and still hang out in the living room. *laugh* Once we move, this will be an amazing thing.

I have a list of things I want to accomplish artistically this year, including a kinda huge project for my favoritest uncle in the world. :D And I want to do many more ACEO's, so I can trade, as well as sell some. :D

Lastly, for the next monthish, I'll be sporadic, as I am filling my days with packing, and all that happy crappy, because the closing on the house has been tentatively set at Jan 29th, although both realtor and loan lady say that can go faster, soon as all the paperwork's in (Which should all happen this week).

I'm so crazy excited, though. *bounce*

Ok, so it leans a bit. (and 10k!)

Got the inspection report today on the house. Now this was just a structural inspection, mind you. And apparently, the house does, in fact, lean 6 inches to one side. This, the inspector says, is a byproduct of it's construction, apparently in the 1860's, and has nothing to do with the structural integrity. His report said, even without regular maintenance, that house will be sound in another 100 years.

Which is what we'd told them, too bad the guy we had look at it before we made the offer was just a construction worker, rather than an inspector, we'd have saved ourselves some money. lol

Now, though, we still have to wait on the appraisal, but they tell us that we'll know about that before Christmas. Yay!

So, once that's all good, then I'll say we're getting the house. I am, however, terribly excited!

Also, hubby's car broke down, and kind of never recovered, so yesterday, he broke down (hehe) and bought a new to us car. I keep calling it the fancy car, because it's a black Lincoln Continental. *laugh* It's not anywhere close to new (mid 90's), but it's not a behemoth, and it's in good shape, and it makes him very very happy. Yay again!

So, the holidays seem to be treating us well, and I've been drawing some more of late. I actually tried my hand, immortalizing Sarhea, I'll scan that this weekend, and maybe do a bit of touch ups for things I just haven't figured out yet, with color pencils (eye shines and such), and I should have a couple new doll things up this weekend, as well.

I hope everyone else is having a blessed, and fruitful time of life. I want everyone to feel as much contentment as I do. (Minus the panicky crap, because I'm so damn high strung. lol)

PS!! Holy crap!! The 10 K mark has sneaked right up on me! So, here's the deal, you be teh 10,000th visitor to my DA profile, and you get your choice from me, a 3d piece, a fancy-smancy doll (or dolls), or an ACEO in the mail. Your choice of subject matter, as long as it's at least sorta fantasy driven, a character, an idea, whatev. :D
